2016 Accreditation Visit

Dear Biola community and constituencies of the University:

Biola’s Talbot School of Theology has been preparing and going through the process of their reaffirmation of its accreditation. Talbot School of Theology is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) and also our regional accrediting body, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Part of our commitment to academic excellence is to participate with these two agencies in undergoing a sustained period of self-evaluation and direct-evaluation by visiting members of these agencies.

At this time, we have been preparing for our upcoming site visit by ATS, which will take place February 22-25, 2016. This preparation has included a two-year process of self-evaluation, which has culminated in a self-study of our institutional and program standards. We have presented this self-study to ATS and will discuss it further with them upon their arrival. Their evaluation of our self-study and their assessment of our institution is a significant part of retaining our ongoing accreditation.

In order to provide as transparent an evaluation to the committee as possible, we would like to invite feedback from those who desire to do so. Members of the Biola and Talbot community, as well as friends and constituencies of the university, are all invited to submit feedback. A form on this page can be used to directly submit feedback to the Steering Committee at Talbot, which compiled the self-study. Comments submitted will be read only by this team, and all comments will be presented to the visit team upon their arrival. If you desire to remain anonymous, you are free to submit comments without sender information. If you desire to send comments for the evaluation via regular mail, you can do so at the following address:

This is an exciting time for us as we take a close look at our academic health as an educational institution and also our ability to assess our efforts and make regular improvements to the quality of the education that we provide for our students.

We appreciate your prayers and feedback as we engage in this significant time with our accrediting agencies.
