Street Parking Notice

Dear Talbot Student

Your help is needed in our effort to be a good neighbor to those who live in proximity to Biola University. Parking is the issue most likely to cause difficulties with our neighbors at this time. When you park at the curbs along neighbor’s yards, it can leave our neighboring La Mirada residents and visitors with no place to park. Parking problems have led our neighbors to successfully petition the City of La Mirada for “Permit Parking” zones on most of Roma Drive, the Biola Avenue frontage road, and Calpella Drive. Please check the parking sign before you park.

Meanwhile, here are some suggestions that will demonstrate courtesy to our neighbors:

  • Leave a margin of at least five feet next to a driveway. Parking with you bumper right next to the driveway opening makes entering and exiting very difficult;
  • Never block or move a trash can that has been put out for pickup;
  • Do not leave litter behind. In fact, if you see someone else’s litter around your car, please pick it up;
  • Be friendly and courteous as you encounter neighbors when you park. Please understand that we are trying to reverse a recurring problem and your cooperation will be helpful. Please help the Biola Community demonstrate that Christian courtesy can make government imposition unnecessary.

Thank you!
