Dr. John Walton, Professor of Old Testament at Wheaton College and Graduate School, will present “Origins Today: Genesis Through Ancient Eyes” at Biola University.  John Walton’s work on Genesis 1-3 offers a fresh perspective on the complex issue of faith and science by seeking to understand the message of Scripture within its ancient context.

This free event, hosted by Talbot School of Theology, will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Calvary Chapel on Thursday, May 9.  Dr. Walton will give a 70 minute presentation at 6:30 p.m., followed by a panel discussion beginning at 8:00 p.m., with a brief intermission between the two sessions.

The panel discussion will include Biola professors Dr. John Bloom (Physics; Science and Religion) and Dr. Garry DeWeese (Philosophy).  We anticipate an engaging conversation, moderated by Dr. Ken Way (Bible Exposition/Old Testament), which will conclude with time for questions from the audience.

John Walton’s book, "The Lost World of Genesis One" (InterVarsity Press), will be available for purchase that evening at a special discounted rate.  For additional information about John Walton’s speaking tour and his relevant publications, visit
