The Intentional Character Development (ICD) program recognizes that difficulty in ministry is most often linked to issues of character, relationships, emotions, spiritual maturity and other concerns apart from the ability to study, think, teach or preach. To address this, Talbot has provided the following:

  • Personal Foundations of Ministry Class

Awareness of personal strengths and weaknesses with a growth covenant
  • Networking and Mentoring

Networking and mentoring "caring couples", faculty mentored small groups, and accountability to an advisor
  • Assessment

Assessment of emotional status, lifelong traits, and formal reviews of progress
  • Special Events

New student retreats, spiritual retreats, marital retreats, and a baccalaureate celebrationareness of personal strengths and weaknesses with a growth covenant
