Degree: M.Div. Spiritual Formation
Why did you choose to come to ISF?
At the time, I was on staff at a church in Virginia. I found that I had more questions than answers about my own spiritual growth, as well as the shepherding others in the Church. I wanted to learn more about how God matures his people, and how I can help or hinder that work in myself and others. I also knew that I wanted to attend a program that incorporated experiences that would mold my heart as well as my mind. In my search, God opened doors to move across the country and attend ISF.
How are you using your ISF degree today?
I'm taking advantage of what I learned at ISF as a father and husband. I relate to my dear wife and kids differently now. I intend to continue that pursuit of authentic and safe relating throughout the upcoming seasons and stages of life. I am also using my degree in my position at Union Center Christian Church. I am the Connections Pastor, which gives leadership to first impressions volunteer teams, and the various adult discipleship environments outside of our Sunday worship experience. Within these responsibilities, I am able to help mold and fashion environments that will train our people in how to open to God and others. As I go about these responsibilities my ISF degree has trained me to attempt to be me with these dear folks, as well as call them to be themselves with God and others.
