Why did you choose to come to ISF?
I chose to attend ISF because I felt the Spirit of God leading me to deepen my knowledge and love of Jesus. I had a strong desire to grow spiritually even though I was on a church staff, and very active in my faith at the time. In spite of that, I was feeling spiritually dead. I knew there was more to the Christian life but I just didn’t know how to get there. I had looked at a couple of different options that were available but I felt Talbot was the best fit for me. I had been in Bible studies for years but I was looking for a program that had a strong biblical foundation and the ISF provided it all. I wasn’t sure of the outcome but I just knew I was suppose to go....and I did.
How are you using your ISF degree today?
Ephesian 3:20 says, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” When I came to ISF I saw it as a gift from God and it continues to be to this day. I didn’t come to ISF to become a Spiritual Director or to work as an Adjunct Faculty member but God opened the doors and I walked through them. ISF has equipped me to work with Seminary students, take them on retreats and care for their souls. I also opened an office In South County where I meet individuals seeking spiritual direction. In addition, I have started a ministry that offers one day silent retreats for women. I am using the knowledge and experiences that I received through ISF in so many facets of my life, not only professionally, but personally. I use it in Small Groups in my church and on mission trips....the information and journey has not only changed me it has changed the direction of my life.
