Ph.D. Program

General Information

The Ph.D. degree program in Educational Studies is designed to equip the "researcher-teacher" to be able to do research to contribute to the development of the discipline of Christian education and to teach in higher education settings. The program involves two-years of coursework (45 units), a comprehensive exam, and a dissertation. The program is designed to be doable in 4.5 years in the residential program and six years in modified-residential program.

Purpose Statement

The Ph.D. degree program is intended primarily to equip persons for vocations of teaching and research in colleges, universities, and theological schools, or for the scholarly enhancement of ministry practice. This Ph.D. program is designed for men and women to enhance their leadership roles in a variety of educational ministries within God's Kingdom—the local church, educational institutions and ministry organizations throughout the world.
