Dr. Scott Rae Elected VP of the Evangelical Theological Society
Talbot School of Theology is pleased to announce that Dr. Scott Rae, Chair, Philosophy of Religion and Ethics and Professor of Philosophy of Religion and Ethics, has been elected to serve as the next Vice President of the Evangelical Theological Society. Rae will serve in this capacity in 2013 and will serve as President-Elect and Program Chair the following year (2014) when the ETS annual meeting is held in San Diego. He will then serve as President of ETS in 2015.
Rae will be serving with Dr. Robert Yarbrough of Covenant Seminary, who is the 2013 President, and Dr. Thomas R. Schreiner of Southern Seminary, who is President-Elect and Program Chair. The theme of the 2013 annual meeting in Baltimore, MD, will be the inerrancy of Scripture, which is a distinctive of all of Talbot's programs.
Founded in 1949, the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS) is a group of scholars, teachers, pastors, students, and others dedicated to the oral exchange and written expression of theological thought and research. The ETS is devoted to the inerrancy and inspiration of the Scriptures and the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Society publishes a quarterly journal, the Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society (JETS), an academic periodical featuring peer reviewed articles, as well as extended book reviews, in the biblical and theological disciplines. The ETS also holds national and regional meetings across the United States.
