Alumni Focus

by Rick Bee

In recent months, the Alumni Office has worked hard to craft a schedule of events and activities that will be of interest to alumni both here in Southern California and around the globe. One of the most frequently asked questions from our Talbot alumni is “does my Talbot alumni status qualify me for Biola University Alumni Association membership?” And we are pleased to let you know, yes it does!!

All of the benefits and privileges afforded to Biola University Alumni Association members are available to you as Talbot alumni. So, what does that mean?

It means that you are welcome to attend and enjoy all of the university alumni Chapter events around the world, campus events, conferences, concerts, and meetings of the Alumni Association. If you are moving to a new location and need contacts in the area, you can tap into the Alumni Association. If you are back on campus and need the library, would like to audit a class for free, want a discount in the bookstore, or need parking, we are your source! If you’re looking for a new staff person and want to utilize a new grad from Talbot, or find a new job for yourself, we can help to connect you with the right people.

For those of you with an interest in Apologetics, or additional Bible training, alumni discounts are available to conferences and presentations. And for those of you who are missing the socialization and peer networking of your campus experience, you can relive your student experience in February 2010 at alumni homecoming with events especially crafted for Talbot graduates.

Regardless of how connected you may have been as a student to the life of the seminary (and we all recall how busy those student days were), we would love to re-engage you in the life of Talbot today. The University Alumni Associations theme is “Alumni for Life” and we hope that you will be “Talbot Alumni for Life,” as you remain connected to the work of this great place through the various family and friends activities.

I encourage you to check out the alumni schedule for the coming year on line at www.biola.edu/alumni. I think you will be excited to see how your association membership continues to provide resources, events and activities for you.

We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event and thanks for your partnership.
